World Cup Obsession

This is just a quick little post to curb everyones blog appetite. Bigger and better posts to come. O girl, just wait for the things we have in store for you. I just wanted to talk about what EVERYONE else is talking about. The World Cup. My boyfriend, Ryan, recently bought a FIFA game for his XBOX 360 and hasn't stopped playing it. Just hasn't. Thus translating his obsession to the World Cup. This has really brought out his patriotism. He loves the USA. Perhaps 4th of July will mean more to us this year, whose to say. What is the most important thing about the World Cup to the Three Ninjas is not how many goals they score, how many penalties they have, but what they look like with their shirt off. Soccer players are to say the least, attractive. David Beckham anyone? US Weekly just recently did a spread on the hottest guys of the World Cup. I hope women around the country enjoyed that little nugget. Ladies, don't be ashamed if you're only watching the soccer game because you think the players are H-O-T. It's alright. So I leave you with this. The undoubtedly best looking guy in the World Cup, perhaps the world, is the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been linked with Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton. Homeboy's got skills i'd say. Enjoy this piece of eye candy that the world can't stop talking about. O, and, Go America. That ref was a crazy person for not giving us the goal. Ya, see, I'm multi-faceted, I can talk about sports and drool over my man Cristiano. Until next time darlings :)

Lust List for Three

For those of you just pouring over our blog waiting for a new post, here you go. This probably doesn't happen, but a blogger can dream, can't I? This week, we have decided to take a different approach, we're going to unveil the thing each one of us can't stop thinking about, dreaming about, talking about, and ultimately lusting after. All three of these items would be greatly accepted in gift form from our most dedicated readers, haha just kidding. Enjoy this and know that it's okay to lust after material items, no shame in that game.

Katie's item:

This is a handbag by BCBGeneration called the Clarissa satchel, it comes in dove and black (shown above) and can be purchased for a mere $118, I promise for a brand name purse, this is cheap. EVERYTIME we go to the mall, Katie just cuddles this purse as if it were her child and talks about the wonderment of how many zippers it has and pockets and the shape and the color and the beautifulness of it. Pure lust. She'll probably either do one of two things, procure this purse in about 2 weeks time, or move on to something just as lovely and just as expensive she'll want. Just like a woman to be fickle about a handbag.

Carey's item:

All her and Billy want is a child of their own, a Corgi puppy. How can you not just die when you look at this precious little pup? I'm allergic to animals and will have to make a weekly journey to a hospital if we get an animal so they are waiting paitently until I move back home to get their very own fur child. They, probably more on Carey's end, want a girl so they, ahem she, can dress it up in perfect pink outfits and adorn her with a pink color. Nothing on the name front yet, but something so girly and cute you can't stand it. How about a pink collar like this Billy? Manly, I'd say.

My (Carly's) Item:

Behold, the Kindle. I am such a bibliophile. Proud of it, self-confessed, book reading NERD. So obviously the natural next step is for me to take hold of the electronic keep my books in one place situation. My birthday is in a short two and a half months and until then I am trying so hard not to buy books. Hard for a nerd such as myself. I have a list of like 35 books that I want to read!! Hopefully by August 29th the Kindle will be in my grasps. At first I wanted the Nook, however, the kindle is on the third generation, solid. I'd also love a Kate Spade cover, always need a little pizzazz. Such as this one:

Precious. Dying for it. Birthday come quick!

So here it is, the three things that we can't stop thinking about. I PROMISE I will update more often. I'm thinking up new ideas for this little baby everyday. Coming up next, how to avoid breaking the bank but still looking like a million bucks. I hope you all are enjoying your summer!!

What are your lust items? Tell us! We'd love to know!!

xoxo,
the three ninjas

The Sweetest Things

So, here I sit, in my second class of the summer, and my last class I ever have to take during the summer. A celebration is in order, after I'm done, on July 8th.. so until then, I will be filling my brain with information about rocks, and volcanoes and everything else boring about the Earth. Upside, my teacher is super goofy and is constantly cracking us up, so maybe it won't be as terrible as I'm anticipating. Sorry for the long delay on actually updating on our life instead of just complaining about how we wish we could tell everyone what to do and how to act.

So, a long long time ago, actually like 2 weeks ago, we went to a Rangers game, we being Katie, Ryan and myself. Katie's brother Sam graciously invited us and we got to sit in a suite and play with the 3 most beautiful children ever. Just the sweetest thing. I don't think I'll ever be able to sit through a Ranger game in 105 degree weather at the tippity top of Ranger Stadium ever again without lusting after the suite we were lucky enough to procure for that game :)

Also, last weekend, we went to the Colonial Golf Tournament, one of my favorite summer activities. The best place to see and be seen in Fort Worth. So of course we had to wear the most fabulous outfits! And because we have connections, my Dad, we got to sit in a fabulous tent with free food and margaritas! Perfection. It was super hot outside and we got so lucky to not have to sit outside in the 5000 degree heat. See how super cute our outfits were :)

The last one was after we walked about 500 miles to hole 13 and finally were able to get into our fabulous tent.

Our next summer adventure we will be undertaking is riding bikes, now I will admit, when people say "it's like riding a bike, you never forget", well, I forgot... kind of. I didn't really have the confidence to ride a bike, like just pick a bike up and take a couple laps for fun. I had to practice, with the help of my lovely boyfriend and his brother screaming at me to remember how to ride a bike. So that was really comforting that I had their help. Anyway, I recently purchased a bike for my quest to get in shape because I just felt running wasn't for me, so I turned to bike riding. And in this, I have inspired Katie to ride bikes with me, and Ryan when he's in Arlington. Also, Mary Swain, we've convinced her to come on bike rides with us too. Its going to be great. So that is another adventure for us to chronicle, me gaining my confidence of riding bikes, and just our basic adventures in river legacy, and hopefully us getting in tip top shape!

I feel like this blog post will be disappointing to my blog readers, if you're actually out there. I wanted to update my blog readers on our lives and try to stick to the actual point of this blog, which was our daily adventures. While these two events are fantastic and totally blog-worthy, besides that, nothing else blog-worthy has gone on. We have been doing mostly.. well, nothing. Relaxing, enjoying summer, swimming, laying out, the basics. I have turned into a GLEEK, and we've continued watching Weeds, collecting the seasons. As you can see, TV plays a big part of our lives, which is pathetic, but we love us some TV. I can't get enough of BravoTV, Housewives, die for them, Katie is a sitcom lover, mostly on network, not a big cable watcher, except ShowTime and HBO, and Carey, well she likes trashy reality TV, and is obsessed with True Blood. Please don't judge us for being addicted to TV and feeding into the lazy American stereotypes. We all contribute to society just fine.

Thats all for now readers, until next time when I promise to pass judgement on someone who is doing something that I don't like. And, if you're getting married and want me to plan your wedding, I'll do it! For FREE! Help me jump start my career so I don't have to shamelessly plug myself on our blog anymore. That would be great, thanks :)

Forever TV addicts,
The Three Ninjas

ps: check out the cover of this weeks US Weekly, not only does it have the Real Housewives, my heros, but Kelly is wearing the same dress I wore to our Fiji Event we talked about, and Lacie wore it to one of her debutante events. Love it. We are so getting famous!

Alright, that's enough.

So listen, while sitting in maymester, Katie and I have stumbled upon Miley Cyrus' new music video. Now, if my memory serves me correctly, which it usually does, she's 17. Hm. Don't get me wrong, I like Miley Cyrus, I do. I think she's talented and I think if she doesn't go Lindsay Lohan on us she'll have a really successful career. That being said, she's 17. That's a junior in high school, for us MHS alumni, thats only the first year you can go off campus for lunch. She was just able to get into rated R movies. Also, I get that she's an "artist" and that she's trying to break the Hannah Montana teeney-bopper mold, however, wearing a black leather cat suit with big black wings as if you're the dark angel or something while dancing provocatively, in a cage no less, is not appropriate nor classy, nor cute. Let me once again reference Lindsay Lohan, the girl is like 23 and has been in rehab like 45 times, been to jail more than once, and I think she's addicted to cocaine, which is problematic for obvious reasons. Miley Cyrus, please do not head down this tumultuous path that so many child stars have fallen victim to. WHERE are this girls parents? O wait, Billy Ray probably helped her zip up the black leather bustier that she sported during her romp through a cage while awkwardly caressing her collar bone area and moving dangerously close to her, um, bubbies. Shout out Real Housewives of New Jersey fans. Now, I was supportive of her during the whole Vanity Fair thing, it was art, awesome. Now, it's getting out of control. Like 20 minutes ago she was singing "Best of Both Worlds" and hanging out with Mickey Mouse and now she's dancing in a cage, and on polls, and giving older men lap dances? Girlfriend needs to get a grip. My little sister is 12 years old, and not to recently she used to look up to Miley Cyrus, I assure you, she will no longer be a role model to pre-teen girls. I don't care if you're in the limelight, I don't care if paparazzi follow you everywhere you go, be age appropriate. Look at Selena Gomez, they're the SAME AGE and she's certainly not being as raunchy as Miley. It's not time to grow up quite so fast, at least wait until you're legal to become a hot mess. Thanks. Check it out for yourself and let me know your thoughts.

This was at the Teen Choice Awards... which has an audience about 16 and younger. Time and a place Miley.

And, while we're talking about celebrities, Joe Jonas just broke up with Demi Lavato the SAME WAY he broke up with t-swift. Who does homeboy think he is? You are 21, not 13, stop breaking up with girls over the phone during a 42 second phone call. You're not all that and a bag of chips like you think you are. Actually, you're kind of becoming a wash-up. He, also needs to get a grip.

Onto some not as judgmental or soapbox-esque topic. Carey and I went to the midnight premiere of Sex and the City 2 last night. It was breathtaking, it exceeded my expectations, the fashions were to die for, and of course, Carrie Bradshaw was perfection. Don't listen to the reviews, if you are a Sex and the City fan, you will love it. It was funny and heart warming and a true testament to friendship and of course, paid homage to the fashion gods. Why don't people actually dress like that? Maybe they do in New York, certainly not in agtown. I want to see some sparkly gold Louboutin's just because its tuesday. However, people were dressed up to see this movie, like in heels. I know that its Sex and the City, but I also know that we're at the Parks Mall on a Wednesday and straight guys are only there if their girlfriends are making them go. So, sorry bout that.

See Louboutin's, just because. How can you not die for this?

Next post will not be as judgmental or as long for that matter. And we'll actually talk about the fun things we've been doing thus far this summer. Teaser: We're going to the Colonial this Saturday and we went to the Ranger Game last weekend! Pictures to come this weekend of these excellent ArlingFUN events!

Keeping it Classy

As a promise to my blog readers, and to my co-pilots, Katie and Carey, to update my blog more faithfully, here I am. I'm sitting in my maymester class watching a video about Andrew Johnson, how delightful first thing in the morning. The upside to this maymester class is giving myself more time to update our blog, and earn an easy A, Katie and I have our eyes on the prize, you better believe it.

Even though we have started our maymester class, and I will then go onto a summer school class. But fear not, this will not stop me from faithfully updating our blog, which normally only happens when I am threatened by Katie. However, this sudden downer in my summer of 2010 will not stop us from living our lives to the fullest. Well, the fullest that I can live mine too because of my limited budget. Katie had to buy my movie ticket this weekend, pathetic. Sidenote: We saw Letters to Juliet with my new girl crush Amanda Seyfried, and it was sappy, but perfect. It also made my desire to go to Italy shoot through the roof, not that it was a low desire or anything, but seeing the beauty that is the Italian countryside just made me want to go even more. Ah, someday.

While sharing with you my pathetic attempts to have a social life while being on a budget, we came up with the idea to share with you, our people, ways to make it through an entire weekend without food. That's right people, I said it, no food. Well, actually, not no food, but very little, and about no money to buy food. My first tip, mainly to myself, get a new job, or just a job in general. But if you have a job and the money just aint flowing, its time to get creative in order to stop your stomach from rumbling. A favorite, "on a budget meal" of mine is the grilled cheese. A throwback meal from our childhood, but a staple if you have $3.00 in your checking account. While I will always be a Target girl at heart, I'm always looking for a good bargain, so for tip number two, try visiting your local Aldi store. A bag of salad at Target is about $3, while at Aldi, they are a measly $.99. What.. a steal. Another go to meal favorite of mine is the PB and J. This sandwich will definitely do in a pinch and can also be made into several different varities. Now friends, a lot of broke college kids will turn to the Ramen noodles, fight the urge to fill your system with sodium and bloat up about 3 pants sizes, fill your system instead with protien and calcium. Now i am not claiming to be any kind of budget nut, AT ALL, I don't know how to save money. However, I do know how to not make myself hungry. Just imparting my wisdom unto you, my friends.

Onto the next order of business. As three southern ladies, yes we are southern, we are from the south and we are ladies. Not southern belles, or debutauntes, shout out to Lacie, but we are southern and we have southern hospitality, and manners, and we take pride in it. Which leads me to our next point. Keep it classy. Now this is just about life in general, but we are setting our sights on facebook. Friends, people look at this stuff, such as employers, parents, relatives. Do you really want your google search to turn up with your facebook ranting about getting wasted and using curse words? Didn't think so. We try to present ourselves in the best way possible because of this. Do you want someone to look at your facebook page, and because of it, you wouldn't be hired for a job? No, you don't. That would suck. Alright, alright, off my soapbox. Just try to keep it classy and simple. This is the internet folks, it can never be taken away, never ever. Just remember this next time you want to drop the "f" bomb on your status or post a picture of you doing a beer bong. Not cute. Or as we might say, get a grip.

Our next blog post won't be so preachy, I promise. We just had some thoughts. If you have some thoughts, feel free to tell us, and our next get a grip section will be dedicated to it. Wish us luck with our maymester and summer school classes.

Keeping it classy,
The Three Ninjas

Sweet Summertime

Hello my sweet blog-readers. So sorry for my absence. I hope you're loving our new and improved blog sight, I think its beautiful. The saying "Be Calm and Carry On" basically describes our tumultuous lives lately, plus the crown, which is just irnoic. I have gotten several requests for an update, and a not very nice text message from one of the three ninjas, ahem Katie. It's not easy being a narrator, and I really didn't have a lot to say, and I didn't want to disappoint our readers, which now I know that there are several of you out there, not just our moms, which make me feel much less pathetic. So guess what, it's almost summer. Praise the Lord. Now, most of you are thinking, o ya, she just wants summer so she can sleep in, lay around and do nothing all summer, o no, quite the contrary my friends. I, as a faithful student, am taking TWO summer classes and working just as much as I can, plus the fact that I consider sleeping in 9:30am, not the lazy college student you had in mind now am I? I can't say the same for Katie, because well, she'll sleep for 24 hours straight if you let her, this is not a joke. She is however, taking a minimester, only because I'm making her and only because I'm going to be in the class too. Carey, well she's like me, she can't sleep in, so suit us, but she'll be working, babysitting more specifically. So while our summers are going to lead us on very different paths, you can bet your bottom dollar 2099 will be full of fun memories and margaritas and of course, pool time, this summer. I like a good balance, plus the fact that I get SO bored if I do nothing all summer, plus who doesn't want to spend their whole summer taking geology and learning the importance of schist vs shale. O wait, I don't.

Onto more important and inspiring and exciting things. I have made an important/life changing decision, surprisingly without the consent of my life coach Jacob Brown, who has just left for the Air Force and will not see my shout out until July, rude. Anyway, I've decided to become a wedding/event planner, I love weddings, and parties and planning, so why not? Anyone getting married soon? I'll plan your wedding, get this FOR FREE. I mean not for free forever, but at least at first so I can get some experience under my belt. My good friend Lauren has recently allowed me to plan her wedding, and is probably regretting this decision because I eat, sleep, breathe her wedding, and it has created somewhat of a monster. Thanks Lauren for jump starting my new life :) I have also been promised all my friends future weddings, including Carey's, to which I responded by already picking out a color palate. Like I said, I've created a monster.

By the way, finals are coming up, and that is all we've all been thinking about, its becoming annoying, as finals usually are. Good news though, after this semester we will have completed 2 years of college. We sure are big girls, but unlike high school, no exemptions are in order for us even if we have above 85's and have passed our TAKS tests, no way Jose. Big shout out to MHS for preparing me ZERO for finals time. Go warriors. But I've overcome all that resentment towards MHS and I'm buckling down to write a 6 page research paper about abortion, really fun stuff I'd say. So, wish us luck as we finish our 2nd year of college and look toward the home stretch all the way to graduation.

While I know we've made false promises about doing fun things around Arlington as the exact purpose for this blog, we're broke. And we haven't done anything any pictures have been taken at or anything. Carey did BUY OUT Vera Bradley the other day, if you can believe she can actually acquire more Vera things, but wait she can. We will try our hardest to come through with our ArlingFUN ramblings. But, summer's coming, and it is a magical time, so you never know what adventures will come The Three Ninjas way.

Enjoy this picture of a beautiful boho chic wedding. Someday I hope to plan a wedding that is as beautiful and inspiring as this one. Dying for this.

With wedding planning bliss in our hearts,
The Three Ninjas

Get a grip

My fellow bloggers and I, while being good at many things, are good at shopping. Katie mostly, seeing as Carey and I are broke about 75% of the time. Katie also went to school at the Art Institute for a year, so she does know what she's talking about when we pass judgement. I love clothes, adore them, I've never met a label I didn't love, yet my designer clothes collection is substantially smaller than Katie's, and I guess we've rubbed off on Carey because now, as mentioned earlier, she's obsessed with Tiffany's, and now going to North Park and admiring beautiful clothes. With all that said, a new spring trend that arisen in fashion this season is the Little White Dress, LWD, replacing the LBD of the fall and winter seasons. Now, this is a tricky trend, one that must be executed correctly. While The Three Ninjas admire a brave fashion decision, it is also important to know how to pull off the LWD. Allow me to show examples of what to do, and what NOT to do.

All three of these are examples of NO, just NO NO NO. Just because it's on the Runway, doesn't mean it's okay to wear it to a formal.

This is perfect. Just die for it. With Urban Outfitters, you can never go wrong. This is perfect for either day or night, dress it up or dress it down. Perfect example of dressing down with a fedora, yet dressing it up would be with a beautiful pair of wedges, ah summer dresses :)

This one is a great casual dress. Perfect for summer, beach trip or shopping trip. The quintessential summer day dress.

While we encourage everyone to take fashion risks, we also encourage you to think twice before buying a LWD just because its whats in this season. You can definitely pull off a LWD for a formal event, but it can't be from Group USA, this isn't your wedding, put it back on the rack. If you are to wear a formal LWD, do a little research and make sure you are going to be a fashion icon, not a fashion victim.

I know that this post wasn't so much about our adventures around Arlington, however, it was about our thoughts toward the tricky LWD. From time to time we will use our blog to vent about such fashion mishaps. If you see one near one, report it to The Three Ninjas and we will surely point it out and try and give solutions to the not so fashionable.

Speak of Fashion Icons, Katie and I journeyed to an event hosted by TCU's FIJI chapter this weekend, Casino Night, with our new favorite friend Lacie. We all looked stunning, and we definitely did not fall victim to the fashion gods. I'll end this with some media of how fabulous we looked.
